POSSCON 2010 | Open Source Conference in Columbia, SC

April 15, 2010 | Columbia, SC

Third annual Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSON.org) was held in Columbia, SC on April 15-17 featuring the very best open source speakers and thought leaders in the country.

Bobby Rettew, llc worked with the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management to build a video based campaign to attract some of the best and brightest to attend this year's event. Below is the wrap-up and thank you message sent to all of the attendees. If you want to see the whole campaign, you can visit POSSCON 2010 Website or the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management's YouTube channel.

The goal of the event is to provide affordable access to quality open source education in the southeast U.S, an area that currently has little of it. Started in 2008, the Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON) quickly grew in 2009 to an event with more than 200 attendees from four (4) states (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida), twenty (20) speakers, and more than twenty private and government entity participants.  In fact, POSSCON grew so fast in 2009 we've moved the 2010 conference to a new location - the Columbia Convention Center in the heart of Columbia, SC.

Extraordinary steps have been taken to ensure the 2010 event continues to grow and attract more attendees and participants.  More nationally known speakers have been added to the agenda, additional partnerships with top media outlets have been formed to ensure nationwide awareness, an additional conference and rtaining day have been added to provide more content, a CIO/CTO Forum has been added to specifically target the managers who can benefit from OSS the most, and the new location is the very best available.  For all these reasons, we expect interest and attendance to increase substantially.
